Disney will be releasing a live-action version of Cinderella in March 2015.

IMDb lists the cast, which features Lily James as Cinderella, Hayley Atwell as Cinderella’s birth mother (Peggy Carter from Captain America), Cate Blanchett (Galadriel from the Lord of the Rings films) as Lady Tremaine, and Helena Bonham Carter as the Fairy Godmother.

Seeing Helena as the Fairy Godmother will be interesting because her characters always seems a little bit creepy to me because of her roles as Bellatrix Lestrange in Harry Potter and the Red Queen in Alice in Wonderland.

Disney’s teaser trailer is also available.

So, what do you think of the up-coming film, Cinderella?  Are you excited about it?  Are you thinking, “Don’t mess with a classic?”  Maybe Ever After was good enough for you. . . . Do you think you’ll pay to see it in theaters or wait until available to rent?  Click on “Leave a Comment” at the top of this post and let’s talk about it.

  1. I love the movie Ever After. So, between it and old Cinderella, I’m pretty well satisfied. I don’t think there’s a need for this one, but I’ll watch it anyway. It’s interesting to me that they’re doing a live-action version of the Sleeping Beauty tale and then now they’re doing this too. I’m wondering if we’re seeing the beginning of a new trend here.

    • That’s true. I think I’d like that trend more than multiple sequels of the animated favorites, but we’ll see what I think after watching Maleficent and Cinderella.
