Archives For Disney Products

Disney has given glimpses of Belle and some of the scenery for 2017’s live-action Beauty and the Beast, but many of the major elements have remained a mystery.  The film’s trailer left us longing for more after we heard Lumiere and Cogsworth’s voices, while seeing nothing but darkness.

Finally, we get a glimpse of these two, classy sidekicks.  Behold…

What do you think?

Personally, I think Cogsworth is pretty cute.  (Although, are his insides broken?  Hmm.)  I wish Lumiere’s face was more pronounced.  But, the jury is still out for me, until I see them in action.

I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments!

Circle with Disney

Disney Momma  —  November 5, 2015

Circle

Disney Momma is my blogger name because I love Disney and I also care about families, family time, and family values.  That is why I am really excited to share about this new product, Circle.

Circle is not made by Disney, but Disney has partnered with the Circle team to present an affordable, practical internet security device.  Circle allows parents to filter internet content in their home, set time limits or a bedtime, and even pause the internet access.  It’ can be personalized for multiple people, so one child can have different filters or time limits than another.  Plus, it doesn’t have monthly fees, like a lot of the other options in internet security.

Read more about it here, on my husband’s blog.  As both a father and a children’s and youth pastor, he cares deeply about internet safety for today’s youth and families.  We’re really excited about this new technology.

Is Circle something you would use in your home?  Talk about it in the comments.

All About Dole Whips

Disney Momma  —  September 8, 2015

You’ve probably (at least) heard of a Dole Whip.

It’s one of the Disney Parks’ most famous snacks.

It’s a pineapple soft serve dessert.  It is served alone or as a float with pineapple juice.  It is a really unique consistency though.  It’s not quite a sorbet or sherbet, and it feels lighter than soft serve ice cream.  It’s just one-of-a-kind.

Other flavors are sometimes available too.  In Disney World’s Adventureland restaurant, Aloha Isle, you can buy pineapple, vanilla, orange, or a swirl of two flavors.  My personal favorite is an Orange Dole Whip Float.  Yum!

This quick, little video shows a Cast Member’s day at the Tiki Juice Bar in Disneyland, serving Dole Whips.  (I love that they made “My First Dole Whip/Float” celebration buttons!)   Continue Reading…

A while back, I discovered the Magical Ribbons Shop.  I’ve been wanting to do a post about it ever sense, and here it is!

I have two sons and a baby on the way this fall.  If the baby is a girl, I can tell you that some of these bows are in her future.  If it’s a third boy, I think I will buy myself some ribbons!  These products are so cute and so perfectly matched to their inspirations.

(Note: I have not yet personally purchased any of these ribbons, nor am I receiving anything in exchange for this post.  All opinions are my own.)

When I found them, I especially fell in love with the bows that are inspired by the Parks.  The shop carries bows based on California and Florida attractions, parades, cast member uniforms, resort hotels, and even snacks!  There are also character bows and non-Disney ones (including some fun superhero ones, Star Wars, Dr. Who, and more).

Here are a few (okay, more than a few!) of my favorites from the site, compared to their inspirations.

My husband, son, and I saw Tomorrowland in the theater last night, along with my husband’s family.

It was definitely a movie that I wanted to see at some point, but I honestly wasn’t super interested in it.  The trailers had been so cryptic about the actual storyline that they hadn’t piqued my interest enough to have me begging to see more.

My mind quickly changed, however, as the movie started.

Disney/Pixar has released the teaser trailer for their upcoming film The Good Dinosaur, which will hit theaters this Thanksgiving. What do you think? Is it a winner? Look like a dud? Too soon to call? Given their track record, I’m sure it will be a fun film, but I guess we’ll have to wait and see.

The following is a guest post by my husband, Jared, a self-proclaimed tech, Disney, and superhero geek.  See more about him at the bottom of this post.

I think we all knew it was coming, but now it’s official. With the success of the original Disney Infinity and the continued success when Infinity 2.0 included Marvel characters, it was a natural progression to include Star Wars into the future of the game. That’s exactly what Disney has done. Version 3.0 will include Star Wars playsets as well as new Marvel characters and Disney characters. The toy box is sure getting full. Here’s a few things to know about the 3.0 release: Continue Reading…

The next addition to the list of Disney Christmas gifts is:

Duffy

Duffy Book

I picked up the story of Duffy The Disney Bear from the gift shop at our Pop Century Resort.  (It was available at other gift shops as well.)  For only $5.99, we got this hardcover book.  It’s a cute story about the origin of Duffy and it’s full of cheerful illustrations.

The tale is that Minnie Mouse made a teddy bear for sea captain Mickey, to keep him company on his voyages.  He took pictures with him on his travels and showed his friends when he got back home.  Soon, everyone wanted Duffy bears of their own!  So, Minnie got busy making more and more, for her friends and others who need lovable travel companions.

Do you have any Duffy merchandise at your house?

Okay, this isn’t actually Disney, but it will be.

Frying Pan

Mini Frying Pan

My husband gave me this cute, little, mini cast iron skillet that came with an individual-sized cookie mix.

I will definitely enjoy indulging in my own 5-inch cookie, but the real reason behind this gift is so that I can take it to Disney World someday and have it signed by Rapunzel!  I’ll bring along a silver Sharpie marker and get in line to meet the princess!

What’s the most interesting thing that you’ve had signed on a Disney vacation?

Little Mermaid BowAriel Hair Bow

I got this adorable Ariel hair bow from my parents.  It has teal-colored ribbon with scales like her tail, purple like her seashells, and a net-like ribbon that holds on a tiny dinglehopper!  I just love it!

This bow comes from Hot Topic’s Disney collection.  Its original cost is $8.40, but it is currently on clearance.

Hot Topic has some new items (including dinglehopper earrings) that would match.
