Wordless Wednesday: Four Favorites

It’s Wednesday again!  I am joining up with Focused on the Magic’s Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop!  This week’s theme is 4 Favorites.  So much to choose from: favorite attractions, favorite stores, favorite restaurants, favorite characters, favorite souvenirs, … !  

Maybe it’s because I’m pregnant, or maybe it’s just because I love Disney food, but I am choosing 4 favorite things to eat at Disney World (on a budget…no table-service meals here).

Here we go!  Mmmmmmm!

Braised Pork
Braised Pork (Coq Au Vin Style) from Be Our Guest Restaurant’s lunch
Eight Hour Slow-cooked Pork with Mushrooms, Onions, Carrots, and Bacon served with Mashed Potatoes and Green Beans Jardinière.  My favorite meal at WDW.

LeFou's Brew
LeFou’s Brew from Gaston’s Tavern: 
This amazing slush is something I wish I could bring home with me.  “No-sugar added frozen apple juice with a hint of toasted marshmallow, topped with all-natural passion fruit-mango foam.”  That “hint of toasted marshmallow” is something to write home about.

Plaza Sundae making
The Plaza Sundae from The Plaza Ice Cream Parlor on Main Street USA:  The homemade waffle cones taste just like the amazing smell that is piped onto the street through Smellitzer vents.  It’s delicious and a bit cinnamon-y.  This sundae became a tradition for us, beginning with our honeymoon.  We like to get it with Edy’s vanilla bean ice cream.

Pecos Bill BurgerCheeseburger from Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe:  
This is another tradition for us.  This particular burger is 1/3 Pound Deluxe Angus Cheeseburger topped with Onion Rings, BBQ Sauce, and Bacon.  Then we load it up with sauteed mushrooms from the awesome toppings bar.  That’s the important part.

I could include a page of honorable mentions too, from famous turkey legs and Dole Whips to rich desserts.  These are just a few things that I try to get during every trip.  All of these happen to be from the Magic Kingdom, but of course, I love food from around the whole “World!”

  2. Congratulations on your upcoming new addition to the family! These are some amazing choices and my mouth is watering just looking at the pictures. The Dole Whip that you mentioned is definitely one of my favorites. =)

  4. Oh, food glorious food!! What a delectable choice for your Four Favorites!

    I’ve done the Plaza sundae and Pecos Bill burger. Both Big Time Yum on those choices.

    I am trying BOG lunch for the first time in May and your choice is my top selection for that day. It looks amazing!

    I’m not a big apple juice/cider fan, but you make LeFou’s Brew sound pretty tasty!

    Here are my four favorite foods!
    Magic Kingdom: The Plaza cheeseburger
    Epcot: tie between Via Napoli pizza or the braised pork chop with mashed potatoes and green beans at Sunshine Seasons in the Land. Not sure they still have it, but OH MY was it good!
    Beaches and Cream: The Milky Way Sundae–that just gets better with every word, doesn’t it?
    Epcot: Strawberries and Cream cake at Sunshine Seasons. Light, sweet, but not too rich. I seriously hope they still have it when we go back next month!

    • Oh my goodness! Your favorites sound amazing. I haven’t tried any of them! I’ll have to keep them in mind next time I visit!

      I’m glad to hear that you’re going to try the braised pork. You’ll love it! Every part of it is so good. Even the green beans on top our out of this world. Have a great time on your upcoming trip! So exciting!

  5. I loved the braised pork at Be Our Guest when I was there in November. The ice cream sandwiches at L’Artisan des Glaces in the France pavilion are a hidden gem.

    • That pork is so good, isn’t it? I did get to have an ice cream sandwich in France! It was delicious…and it was so fun to watch them make it and press the bread! Even the Parisian “newspaper” wrap around it was fun. Definitely a great food experience!

  6. I almost went down the food route too but I think it would have been too hard to narrow down!
    I haven’t actually tried any of your choices but I definitely want to try LeFous Brew next time!

    • It was harder than I thought to pick just four! I kept changing my last choice! Haha! I hope you get to try LeFou’s Brew sometime. You will love it.

    • I’m hungry too! Why did I torture myself with this yummy-looking post?! Be Our Guest is so amazing, isn’t it? It would be hard for me to visit WDW and not eat there!
