After several weeks away, I am glad to be a part of Wordless Wednesday this week! We’re joining up with Focused on the Magic’s Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop! This week’s theme is Photo Flashback.
I decided to flash back to my FIRST trip to Walt Disney World. I went with my high school band for Disney’s Magic Music Days in June of 2004.
I’m featuring a couple of old, high-quality photos (haha!) of attractions that are no longer at the Magic Kingdom.
Years before the technologically impressive “Enchanted Tales with Belle,” there was “Storytime with Belle” in the Magic Kingdom’s Fairytale Garden. Funny story about this show is that my group skipped out of line for Peter Pan’s Flight because a group of guys–my husband (then boyfriend) especially–wanted to see pretty Belle. Oh my!
I can’t find my old maps, but I believe this location is where Merida now meets guests.
Many of us remember touring Mickey and Minnie’s houses in Mickey’s Toontown Fair. This picture is from Minnie’s Country House, a very feminine, house, full of lots of creative touches. This area has since been replaced with New Fantasyland, which I completely love. I do wonder, though, what happened to these adorable houses.
Do you have a favorite attraction that has gone away?
I’d love to hear about it in the comments!

I love seeing old photographs of WDW and how things have changed over the years and decades! #DisneyWordlessWednesday
Me too! It’s amazing how much it changes, but still keeps its magic!
Great memories! Thanks for sharing a glimpse into Disney past!
Thanks for stopping by my Wordless Wednesday post, April!
Thanks for sharing these! I never had a chance to visit Toontown, so I love seeing the old pics.
Thank you! Toontown was so cute. Glad you’re able to enjoy it through picture!
Great shots, I do miss Minnie and Mickey’s house.
Thanks, Sean! Me too. I love New Fantasyland, of course, but it’s kind of too bad that their houses couldn’t have stayed somewhere.
Great pictures! I miss traveling through Toontown and Minnie & Mickey’s house.
It was such a clever little area of the park. There was so much imagination in those houses!
My kids really miss Mickey’s & Minnie’s houses! I know they were just walk-throughs, but it made it feel more real, like they actually did LIVE there! Thanks for sharing your pics!
It did feel like that! They were so fun!
